Today, the Philadelphia Flyers provided a slight scare when they announced the cancellation of Monday’s practice shortly before it was scheduled to start.
Naturally, the speculation wheels started turning. Yes, the Flyers claimed practice would now resume on Tuesday. Still, the abruptness to Monday’s cancellation screamed further additions to the Covid protocol list. Of course, any new members would surely result in more postponements, including the end to Philadelphia’s participation in Sunday’s Lake Tahoe game.
Luckily, the team announced Monday that no new additions were made to the dreaded Covid list. Seven players is still a tough pill to swallow but at least they do not have to deal with more. Barring some new revelations, the Flyers will indeed practice on Tuesday.
Additionally, Thursday night’s contest against the Rangers and Sunday’s game against the Bruins are still on. However, one can’t help but wonder what rendition of the Philadelphia Flyers will take to the ice. Key names may not take the ice, and rust will certainly exist.
We all knew this season would present unfamiliar situations. As frustrating as it can be, we just need to ride the wave. Hopefully, we are back to watching games by this Thursday.
